6 Day Itinerary:
Day 1 Folkestone - Amsterdam - Hoorn
Titan’s VIP Home Departure Service® collects you from home for your journey to the Grand Hotel, Folkestone, where you will be greeted by Titan staff and meet your fellow travellers. Enjoy tea and coffee before boarding your coaches for the journey by Eurotunnel or ferry to Calais and onward to Amsterdam. Upon arrival, embark MS Serenade 1 (4T) where a buffet will be available on embarkation. A welcome cocktail and Captain’s gala dinner will be served this evening, whilst we set sail for Hoorn, where the ship moors overnight.
Day 2 Hoorn - Enkhuizen
This morning, embark on independent exploration or join an optional walking tour of the compact city of Hoorn, where modern life blends with the historical townscape. The beautiful port and harbour was the shipping point of the Dutch East India Company, and this afternoon we sail onwards to Enkhuizen, which also grew in the 17th century on the wealth of the great trading company. Take a stroll along the harbour or walk through the town’s old, inner city this afternoon and you will see the numerous mansions of its past.
Day 3 Enkhuizen - Keukenhof - Lelystad
Enjoy a full day’s visit to Keukenhof Gardens, a 32-acre showcase of seven million flowers, set within sweeping gardens or as part of unique and inspiring flower shows, themed each year. The endless beds of vibrant tulips, daffodils and hyacinths create the world’s most magnificent spring gardens, and the Historical Garden shows the origin of the iconic tulip. Later we re-join the ship in Lelystad, a young city with a love of history. The Bataviawerf Shipyard is home to two life-size replicas of ships used by the Dutch East India Company. This evening there will be entertainment on board.
Day 4 Zaandam - Amsterdam
We arrive in Zaandam this morning and take an included excursion to the village of Zaanse Schans. The village is filled with typical 18th and 19th century Dutch barns and houses, as well as museums demonstrating traditional Dutch crafts such as clog- and cheese-making. A highlight of any visit is the six well-preserved historic windmills that were carefully relocated here. Sail early this evening for Amsterdam, where the ship moors overnight.
Day 5 Amsterdam
This morning we disembark for an included leisurely boat tour of Amsterdam’s 17th century canals, lined with merchants’ town houses and city attractions, followed by a coach tour of the remainder of the city. The afternoon is free for you to explore this quirky capital; perhaps visit Anne Frank’s House, the Van Gogh Museum or Rembrandt House Museum, or complete your cruise experience by visiting the Amsterdam National Maritime Museum, viewing Oostindisch Huis, the former headquarters of the Dutch East India Company and strolling along the canals. Tonight, enjoy the Captain’s farewell gala dinner on board.
Day 6 Amsterdam - Folkestone
After breakfast we disembark and board our waiting coaches, to take us on the return journey to Calais and a Eurotunnel or ferry crossing to Folkestone. Upon arrival at The Grand Hotel, you will be met and guided to your Titan vehicle, for the journey home.
